Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pizza

This Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pizza is the perfect Thanksgiving leftovers recipe. It uses Pillsbury Crescents® for the crust, and comes together in just 20 minutes.

Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pizza

Thanksgiving has always been one of my all-time favorite holiday. It combines some of my favorite foods with family time and, of course, shopping!

Each year, my sisters and I all travel to my mom’s for Thanksgiving in North Carolina. Our meal always includes the same classic Thanksgiving dishes, along with tons of other fun traditions. We run a Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning, exchange Christmas ornaments with one another, and we always wake up early Friday to hit the Black Friday deals.

Being from a small town and in a decent-sized family full of hungry basketball players, my mom always bought our groceries at Walmart (a 30-minute drive from our house!). I would always tag along just for something to do, and I still to this day love grocery shopping for some strange reason.

We would always buy Pillsbury Crescents® and Grands!® during those Walmart trips. They were the perfect dinner side dish, base for biscuits and gravy, and they were used in one of my favorite Christmas morning recipes: these 30-Minute Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns.

Since our Thanksgiving meals are always the same (we just can’t stray away from the classics), I always think it’s so fun to get creative with the leftovers! So, I was feeling nostalgic and headed to Walmart for some Crescents®.

This Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pizza is one of my favorite ways to turn Thanksgiving leftovers into something down-right delicious. Our family always loves the leftovers, and this is a great way to make them taste new again.

Just simply roll the dough out to make the crust, bake it for 10 minutes, top it, and return it to the oven until the cheese melts!

With pesto, cranberry sauce, turkey and mozzarella cheese, this Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pizza just tastes like fall. I love the sweetness of the cranberry sauce – I believe it was made to go with turkey.

So, if your family is like mine and loves playing with leftovers, give this Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pizza a try! It wouldn’t be the holidays in our household without Pillsbury Crescents®, and I think I just found one of my new favorite ways to use them.

One thing’s for sure: I know this will be the perfect fuel to keep us Black Friday shopping all day long.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescents®
  • 1/2 cup pesto
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup leftover turkey, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly spray a baking sheet and unroll the dough so it lays flat. Gently pinch the perforations so there are no holes in the dough.
  2. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  3. Remove from the oven and brush with pesto, then cranberry sauce. Sprinkle the turkey and cheese on top.
  4. Bake for another 5-7 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Cut into squares and serve!

I really love this idea. I wouldn't have thought to add the pesto, but I bet it adds great flavor and takes these up a notch!
