All the flavors of jalapeño poppers are included in this easy and healthy whole wheat pita pizza recipe! With cream cheese, turkey bacon, jalapeños, and Cheddar cheese, these Jalapeño Popper Pita Pizzas are creamy and cheesy with just the right amount of heat.
Can’t. Stop. Eating. Jalapeños.
And cheese. I forgot how good cheese is.
I don’t know what it is about those little green devils that make me want to eat them every day! When we got a whole bag full of beautiful jalapeños in our CSA last week, my first thought was to pickle them for later. Then, I bought a package of cream cheese at the grocery store and ever since I’ve been turning EVERYTHING into a jalapeño popper recipe. See: Skinny Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Chicken.
Oh – I also may or may not have taken a CostCo turkey burger (made with only ground turkey, salt and pepper … AKA my lifeline), stuffed it with thinly sliced jalapeños and cheese, then cooked it on my George Foreman. It was the best thing I’ve ever made on my indoor grill-that-makes-me-feel-like-I’m-in-a-fraternity.
See. I have a problem. I need a jalapeñintervention.
Okay so let’s talk about these Jalapeño Popper Pita Pizzas. I love making pizza on whole wheat pitas because it makes me feel a little less guilty about eating my favorite food! You can use this same recipe for regular pizzas with pizza sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings! Cook until the crust is slightly crispy and the cheese is melty and you’ll have individual pizzas that are healthier than most.
These pizzas are topped with low fat cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, turkey bacon, and thinly sliced jalapeños, so they’re perfectly creamy, cheesy, salty and spicy. Adding ranch dressing would also be great with this recipe, but I like to keep things simple.
If you’re a fan of jalapeño poppers, you’ll love this super easy and healthy pizza recipe.
