I recently took a girl’s trip to Cabo San Lucas Mexico … here’s what we saw, ate and did!
Okay, so “girl’s trip” is actually a relative term to describe this actual vacation. This particular trip was a quick getaway with one of my friends and I, which we planned on a whim in the cold desperation of Chicago winter.
We decided to fly on the cheap (Frontier … you’re actually not as bad as I thought you were), and stayed at the beautiful Royal Solaris.
The Royal Solaris is located in San Jose, about a 25-30 minute drive from Cabo San Lucas. If you’re looking for a little cheaper option, I would definitely recommend booking through Apple Vacations – they made it so easy to book buses to and from San Lucas from our hotel.
They also provide transportation to and from the airport and have a hold list of excursions to purchase once you’re there.
While most of our time was spent drinking tequila by the pool, we did venture out to visit the amazing Flora Farms.
It’s a 25-acre organic farm with the cutest restaurant Flora’s Field Kitchen. (Fun fact: Adam Levine also got married here).
We ordered the chicken lunch for two, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was some of the best chicken I’ve ever had in one of the prettiest atmospheres I’ve experienced.
If you time your trip right, you can tour the gardens and visit some of the cute shops they have at the farms. Although it is a bit of a cab ride from Cabo San Lucas … I promise the trip is well worth it.
You can also shop their fresh organic produce if you happen to be staying at an AirBnB or house!
Another highlight from our trip was touring the art district of downtown San Jose and eating at Jazmin’s. This was one of the best caesar salads I’ve had and was made tableside … how cute is that?!
Our favorite bar in San Jose was La Osteria – an outdoor patio with live music! If you’ve never tried Mezcal … I definitely suggest you order it here.
On our last night in town, we booked a trip on the Party Hopper to head into downtown Cabo San Lucas to hit up the clubs. Even if you’re not a club-goer, I’d definitely recommend giving them a shot. Because nothing beats out of date music, flying confetti, and playing with balloons.
