This is a list of some of the best Macro Friendly Foods to Buy From Walmart. Many of these foods are also found at other grocery stores and make counting macros a breeze.
Macro Friendly Foods: Carbs
Walmart has an impressive selection of macro-friendly foods in the carbs category. I love their lower carb tortillas, wraps and pitas as well as their chickpea and lentil pastas.
These carb balance tortillas are only 4g net carbs and taste the best out of all other brands I’ve tried. Use these for wraps, tacos, tortilla pizzas, quesadillas and more.
Flat Out brand flatbreads are the best to use for macro-friendly pizza. I throw this in the oven topped with pizza sauce, cheese and toppings and bake for about 10 minutes.
Joseph’s mini pitas and pita bread are amazing because they’re low calorie and pretty high in protein. These are perfect dipped in hummus or peanut butter.
The Joseph’s pita bread are great for gyros, wraps, air fryer pizzas and more.
Barilla red lentil and chickpea pasta are higher protein alternatives to regular pasta and they’re made with only one ingredient!
Banza is another pasta alternative that’s higher in protein than other pasta. In my opinion, this one tastes better than Barilla but has a few additional ingredients other than just chickpeas.
Another brand of chickpea and lentil pastas with alternative shapes!
Siete foods tortillas are one of my favorites because they’re made with almond flour instead of wheat flour or corn.
Cappello’s is another almond flour pasta alternative found in the freezer section. It’s a bit more expensive because of super high quality ingredients, but was super excited to find it at Walmart!
Kodiak Cakes is my favorite brand of protein pancake mix, and they also have protein oatmeal at Walmart!
Pasta Zero is shirataki noodles that are only 20 calories per serving! They don’t necessarily taste like pasta but are a very similar texture and the perfect base for a meaty sauce.
Macro Friendly Protein and Fat
Walmart has a huge variety of macro friendly foods that help you get enough protein and fat. From lean meats to lower fat cheese and peanut butters, Walmart often has some of the best prices.
Tuna is a perfect high protein and low calorie snack or meal, and Walmart has a ton of flavors. I like buying plain to make tuna salad and tuna melts.
These frozen egg white patties are a time saver for breakfast sandwiches that are lower in fat than eggs with yolks.
Walmart has a wide variety of lean meat like chicken and ground turkey.
Powdered Peanut Butter is much lower in fat than regular peanut butter. You mix the powder with water and it turns into a paste that’s perfect for toast, yogurt or with an apple. I also like to sprinkle it in my smoothies.
Laughing Cow cheeses are liter than regular cheese and perfect for wraps and melted into pastas. Give this creamy pasta recipe a try!
Macro Friendly Condiments + Other
To round out the list of macro friendly foods from Walmart, here are some condiments that will SAVE YOUR LIFE on your macro counting journey.
Bolthouse Farms dressings are so much lower calorie and lower in fat than regular dressings because they’re made with yogurt.
Rao’s pasta sauce is a bit on the pricey side, but it’s by far the best tasting pasta sauce on the market in my opinion. It’s also made with clean ingredients without any sugar.
Walmart has a huge selection of G Hughes marinades and sauces that are sugar free and very macro friendly!
No Added Sugar ketchup – I buy the Heinz brand which is so much better than the regular kind and tastes just the same.
Frozen Cauliflower Rice – this is perfect for when you’re out of carbs but want a rice-like base to stir fries or burrito bowls. I also throw this into smoothies for a veggie boost.
Frozen chopped spinach is perfect in smoothies for a convenient way to get more veggies in.
Sugar free Jell-O puddings are lower in calories and fat than many desserts. You can mix them with low fat milk, or mix a few tablespoons into Greek yogurt for a high protein snack.
Gluten-free baking supplies – I was impressed by this aisle of healthy baking ingredients at Walmart. Love chia seeds in smoothies and flour alternatives for gluten-free baking.
