Not your average turkey meatballs. These Baked Sriracha Turkey Meatballs are delicious turkey meatballs that are baked in the oven and slathered in a sweet Sriracha glaze.
I love Sriracha sauce so much, I wish I could marry it. And the same goes for meatballs.
So pretty much when I dream of my wedding, these Baked Sriracha Turkey Meatballs are standing at the end of that isle. They’re that good.
The sauce reminds me of a teriyaki sauce with an extra kick of spice. These would be great over brown rice or quinoa so all that delicious sauce soaks into the rice, but I just ate them plain! These would also be great as party meatballs – just roll them a little bit smaller and serve them with tooth picks. Then sit back and watch your guests give you all the compliments.
Sriracha sauce is a pretty hot sauce, so adjust the amount to your liking. These were perfectly spicy to me and I like medium amounts of spice.
You need these Baked Sriracha Turkey Meatballs in your life. Trust me on this.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup plain breadcrumbs (I used Panko)
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon soy sauce
- black pepper, to taste
- SRIRACHA GLAZE
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoons rice vinegar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Sriracha hot sauce
- ½ cup water (divided)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Combine all the meatball ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Shape the meat into balls about the size of pingpong balls with wet hands and arrange them on a baking sheet covered with tin foil. Bake for 25 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the Sriracha glaze. Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, Sriracha, and 1/4 cup water in a large pan. Heat, stirring constantly, over medium heat until the brown sugar is dissolved.
- In a small bowl, mix together remaining 1/4 cup water and cornstarch. Stir it into the sauce and heat until it gets really thick.
- When the meatballs are done baking, add them to the pan with the glaze and toss to coat. (You can also transfer the meatballs to a bowl and pour the glaze over).
