Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowl

Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowls are a delicious and healthy breakfast recipe or post-workout recipe with peanut butter, oats, banana, almond milk and Vega Clean chocolate protein. This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of White Wave and Vega. All opinions are my own.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowl

I did it again. After about two years off (while doing normal gym workouts and Kayla Itsines BBG) I’ve decided to join a Crossfit gym once again. Although I do love BBG workouts, there’s just nothing that kicks my you-know-what more than Crossfit. I love the short, high intensity workouts and pushing my body to a level I didn’t know existed.

Of course, as I jump back into the fast road to fitness, there’s one thing I’m going to have to keep a large stock of: protein!

Vega Clean protein powder is my absolute favorite on the market. I love the fact that it’s plant-based protein made without any soy, dairy, artificial sweeteners or colors. What’s even better is that, in my opinion, it tastes the best (least chalky) of all the ones I’ve tried. Plus I’ve found that it agrees with my stomach much more than some whey varieties.

This Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowl recipe is one of my favorite post workout breakfasts to-date. The combination of peanut (or almond) butter, banana, oats, almond milk, and Vega Clean chocolate protein powder is both amazingly delicious and super filling. I mean, who doesn’t love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate?!

It’s the perfect meal to help repair my muscles and keep me full until lunch.

I love smoothie bowl recipes like this one because you can top them with a whole bunch of delicious add-ons like sliced banana, chia seeds, flax seeds, shredded coconut, nuts, granola and more!

Another way to take your smoothie to the next level is by adding a small amount of oats to them! It creates an ultra thick and creamy texture that’s perfect for smoothie bowl recipes.

Don’t let the thought of eating smoothies with a spoon weird you out! I urge you to give smoothie bowls a try, starting with Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowl. Of course, if you’re simply not into the bowls, this is also great just as a smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1 serving Vega Clean Protein Powder - chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter
  • About 3/4 to 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Toppings: sliced banana, shredded coconut, chia or flax seeds, granola, sliced almonds, chocolate chips, etc

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients but the toppings in a blender. Blend on high until very smooth. (I don't add ice because the frozen banana is enough, but you may add ice if you want it a bit thicker)
  2. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with desired toppings.
  3. Enjoy!

I LOVE smoothie bowls! The Vega protein powder is phenomenal--Mocha has to be my favorite flavor! This take on it sounds wonderful! I never would have thought about using oats in a smoothie though!
